Smoked chilli hot sauce
This is a little number I like to whip up when I have chillis that need using. It’s not a filthy hot as I prefer a little heat and a good flavour with my hot sauce. I am not a fan of a hot sauce that will remove the roof of my mouth, taking with…

Barbecue cassoulet
This little number is based on the classic French casserole of beans and a few different types of meat (confit duck is traditionally a must) which is gratinated with breadcrumbs so you know this is going to be good because I just mentioned that it’s based on a classic French recipe and the thing about…

Really simple sausage rolls with BBQ leftovers
Really simple sausage rolls with BBQ leftovers. As the title might suggest, this is a recipe for the simplest of sausage rolls using leftovers from your weekend cook up. I know left over BBQ is a foreign concept to a lot of people so I say if you are one of these people, chuck a…

Bomb breakfast burgers
Really good breakfast burgers. Bomb breakfast burgers, even. I think that you are probably skilled enough in the arts of basic cookery to cook your bacon and eggs how you like them cooked, and possibly even toast some bread rolls to hold it all together, so today I will be focusing on the hash brown…

Brisket birria tacos
This is a little something that won’t get a mention on a quick-and-easy Old El Paso authentic-Mexican-at-home shelf pack. This is the real McCoy, or the Mexican worded version thereof. This is brisket cooked down in a spicy, aromatic broth until its pull apart tender (and that broth is spicy and aromatic with things that…

Easy peasy ham and cheesy scrambled eggs
Christmas is my favourite time of year and this is my favourite scrambled eggs of the year. It is made up of Christmas ham and left-over cheese platter cheese that are held together in a warm, melty pile of deliciousness by just enough creamy scrambled eggs to make it a breakfast dish. But really, it’s…

Bronnie’s potato salad and corn salad a la Lefty
These salads were both guided to the point where they exist today by a couple of chefs at our restaurant, the Stockpot Kitchen. They are both delicious on the banquette table, at a picnic, at a high tea, at a low tea, even packed for a camp out with your drunkard mates or, I might…

Smoked ham with sweet and sexy gochujang and honey glaze
Now, there’s going to be a lot of different stories floating around the world-wide super-web around this point in time all telling you how you should cook a ham. Some will claim to be good. Some will claim to be the best. All I know is that there are a lot of different ways to…
